  • The problem with spreading just sand through a spreader designed for salt of sand/salt is that sand by itself packs down and won't come out of the opening evenly to spread evenly. There are types of spreaders that can do sand alone but they all have conveyor setups. The SaltDogg Salt Spreader for Truck # 337SHPE1000X that you referenced can do salt or sand/salt really well but would not be what you'd want if you needed to spread sand by itself.
